Kurozuka
This Kagura is a combination of the Noh chant The Ogre of Adachigahara and an old myth of Tamano about an evil fox with golden hair and nine tails, Kinmokyubin.The monk Yukei of the land of Kii (modern Wakayama prefecture), whilst travelling around the various lands on pilgrimage with his mountain guide, came to settle in Nasunogahara in the land of Mutsu (modern Fukushima prefecture).They decided to slay an evil fox that had been impeding local traffic, but instead the fox tormented them and ate the mountain guide whilst the monk escaped back home.The two superb archers Miuranosuke and Kazusanosuke then travelled to Nasunogahara and slew this evil fox that had been deceiving the people.
