During the Heian Era (794-1185) the Minister of the Right, Sugawara-no-Michizane, was plotted against by the Minister of the Left, Fujiwara-no-Tokihira, and was dispatched to the land of Tsukuchi in Dazaifu (modern Kyushu).Michizane`s vexation rose all the way up to Heaven, and Heaven punished Tokihira`s crime by raining thunder and red-hot iron down upon him. Then Tokihira was slain by Michizane.
