Crime Prevention
Shimane is a relatively safe place in Japan, but crimes and traffic accidents occur every day. You never can know when or where crimes or accidents will occur, or who will cause them. In order to prevent them, beware of the followings:
- Be sure to lock up before leaving your house or going to bed.
- Keep valuables such as cash separately.
- Lock your bicycle, motorcycle, or car when you leave it unattended. Do not leave your valuables inside your car.
- Be careful when you walk alone late at night or in badly lit streets or public places.
